Smriti Irani's loss was one of the most high-profile defeats in Amethi. She lost to Congress candidate Kishori Lal Sharma, a Gandhi loyalist by 1,67,196 votes margin. Smriti Irani got 3,72,032 votes. Congress has finally won back Amethi.
Raj Babbar
Actor and Congress leader Raj Babbar lost to his BJP opponent Rao Inderjit Singh by 75,079 votes. In 2009, Mr Babbar defeated Samajwadi Party's Dimple Yadav wife of Akhilesh Yadav, by a margin of 85,000 votes in the Firozabad seat.
